About this site

Not all of us have the time or ability to take 6 months out of our busy schedules to travel the world, grow facial hair, make necklaces out of seashells, or even forget about the the day after the day after tomorrow. Business is 24/7. Our holidays are too god damn short. I thought about this often during my last two years working in Hong Kong. And yet, looking back at some of the trips I have been lucky enough to take, many of those were adventures that ticked all the essentials on any backpackers' bucket-list and more.

From island-hopping in the Philippines to exploring the misty mountains of China; motorbiking through Sumatran jungle to wandering the temples of Cambodia; kite-surfing the coast in Vietnam to diving the coral reefs of Indonesia  These trips combine travel and adventure, they encourage sustainable tourism and community development, they can be challenging and are inspired by freedom. Make yours your own.

Stop dreaming, start planning
This blog is designed to give you some overall impressions of the areas covered. Hopefully it will inspire you to not only take on some of the trips mentioned here, but also to take the leap and create your own mini-adventure amongst waterfalls, white sandy beaches, dotted islands, ancient temples and majestic mountainscapes. This is not a directory and I do not list all the names of specific companies that organise tours/accommodation. Those that are listed are business I have used, or those that friends have used and recommend. Finding the right people in the right places at the right time is your job. I can just point you in the right direction and let you know what's possible. But don't take my word for it. Nothing is impossible. Just don't try and make me put toothpaste back in it's tube.
